Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá účelem trestání. Úvod do problematiky seznamuje s charakteristikami a funkcemi trestání. Druhá kapitola se věnuje ospravedlnění trestání a předkládá teorii absolutní, relativní, smíšenou a jejich možné variace. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na efektivitu trestání z více úhlů pohledu. This bachelor thesis deals with the purpose of punishment. At first, we introduce the characteristics and functions of punishment. The second chapter deals with vindication of crime and presents an absolute, relative, combined theory and their possible variation.
