The Names of Streets in Opava (Overview with a specific Consideration of Name Changes)

Abstract:

This bachelor these deals with names of the streets in Silesian town Opava, how were the streets developed and changed in a course of history. In the theoretical part of the thesis there are covered the general terms about onomastics and toponomy, also general development and changes of Czech and German streets. The practical part of the thesis contains specifically the streets of Opava, history of the town and the indigenous German population.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá názvy ulic ve slezském městě Opavě, jak se v průběhu historie opavské názvy ulic vyvíjely a měnily. V teoretické části jsou zahrnuty všeobecné pojmy o onomastice a toponomastice, dále všeobecný vývoj a změny českých i německých ulic. V praktické části jsou konkrétně tematizovány opavské ulice, historie města a původní německé obyvatelstvo.
