Communication Skills of Workers in Tourism with Focus on the Catering Services

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou komunikačních dovedností pracovníků v cestovním ruchu se zaměřením na stravovací služby. Cílem práce je srovnat požadavky zaměstnavatelů na komunikační dovednosti svých zaměstnanců s jejich skutečnými dovednostmi v praxi a s teoretickými předpoklady, které by měli tito zaměstnanci získat vzděláním. Práce je rozdělena na tři samostatné části. První část se soustředí na vymezení základních pojmů vybrané problematiky. Ve druhé části jsou analyzována a interpretována data prostřednictvím analýzy, dotazníkového šetření a metody pozorování. Je provedena komparace požadavků zaměstnavatelů se skutečnými dovednostmi pracovníků a s teoretickými předpoklady získanými vzděláním. V závěru je ověřena platnost hypotézy. Ve třetí části jsou shrnuty všechny získané informace a jsou stanovena obecná doporučení pro výběr zaměstnanců do odbytové části ve stravovacím zařízení.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis describes problems of communication skills of working staff in tourism focusing on catering services.The main goal is to compare employers' demands on communication skills of its employees, the practical skills of these workers and the theoretical assumptions that should these employees get by education. The work is divided into three separate parts. The first part focuses on definitions of selected problems. In the second part data are analyzed and interpreted through analysis, questionnaires and observation methods. The thesis perfomanes a comparison of the actual requirements of employers and the skills of workers with theoretical assumptions acquired by education. In conclusion, the hypothesis is confirmed. The third section summarizes all of the information and general recommendations for the selection of employees into the sales of the catering facilities are provided.
