Abstract:
Tato práce se zabývá konstrukcí mediálního obrazu osobnosti svatého Václava v celostátních tištěných médiích na počátku tisíciletí, konkrétně v letech 2000, 2001, 2004 a 2005. Symbol svatý Václav navíc poskytl prostor pro analýzu české národní identity a českého národa. Zkoumali jsme vztah českého národa k Němcům a Evropě. This thesis is focused on the construction of the image of historical personality of St. Wenceslas in Czech press media during the year 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005. In this period all relevant texts relating to symbol of St. Wenceslas were selected and analyzed. We had also opportunity to analyze character of Czech nation and Czech national identity in general.
