Abstract:
The diploma thesis observes the concept of loneliness in the following McCullers? works: The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter (1940), Reflections in a Golden Eye (1941), The Ballad of the Sad Café (1943), The Member of the Wedding (1946), Clock Without Hands (1961). The aim is to characterize all the protagonists of the novels in order to deduce types and causes of loneliness. The analysis of the characters …more

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá osamělostí v následujících dílech Carson McCullers: Srdce je osamělý lovec (1940), Reflections in a Golden Eye (1941, nepřeloženo do češtiny), Balada o smutné kavárně (1943), Svatebčanka (1946), Hodiny bez ručiček (1961). Cílem diplomové práce je analyzovat protagonisty uvedených románů a na základě jejich charakteristik vyvodit jednotlivé typy a obecné příčiny osamělosti …more
