Coping strategies and prevention of Technostress among students of Masaryk University

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Copingové strategie a prevence technostresu u studentů Masarykovy univerzity“ pojednává o tématu prevence a zvládání technostresu ve vztahu k vysokoškolskému studiu na Masarykově univerzitě v Brně. Začátek práce je v stručnosti věnován základní charakteristice stresu a jeho zvládání obecně. Na tuto část navazuje kapitola zabývající se technostresem a univerzitními studenty jako skupinou ohroženou jeho výskytem. Dále jsou zohledněny nároky spojené s užíváním ICT kladené na studenty v prostředí Masarykovy univerzity. Následuje část zabývající se prevencí, kde jsou identifikována opatření, vedoucí k minimalizaci rizika vzniku technostresu, a to jak ze strany Masarykovy univerzity, tak samotných studentů. Po zohlednění prevence se práce věnuje problematice zvládání technostresu, tedy copingu. V této části jsou rozlišeny tři základní směry výzkumu copingu v souvislosti s ICT. Prostor je věnován především copingu v kontextu technostresu a identifikaci copingových strategií zkoumaných v této souvislosti. V poslední části bakalářské práce je předložen návrh dotazníku pro měření copingových strategií orientovaný na studenty MU.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis "Coping strategies and prevention of Technostress among students of Masaryk University" deals with the topic of prevention and management of technostress in relation to university studies at Masaryk University in Brno. In the beginning of the thesis are basic characteristics of stress and coping in general introduced. This part is followed by a chapter dealing with technostress and university students as a group at risk of its occurrence. Furthermore, the demands associated with the use of ICT imposed on students in the environment of Masaryk University are taken into account. The following part deals with prevention, where measures are identified to minimize the risk of techno-stress, both on the part of Masaryk University and the students themselves. After taking into account the prevention, the work deals with the issue of coping. In this part, three basic directions of coping research in connection with ICT are distinguished. The space is devoted mainly to coping in the context of techno-stress and the identification of coping strategies examined in this context. In the last part of the bachelor's thesis, a draft questionnaire for measuring coping strategies focused on MU students is presented.
