The modern history of the symphony orchestra in Marienbad

Abstract:

Diplomová práce „Novodobá historie symfonického orchestru v Mariánských Lázních – od konce druhé světové války do současnosti“ pojednává podrobně o poválečné, téměř sedmdesát let dlouhé historii mariánskolázeňského orchestru. Mapuje jeho postupnou proměnu od sezónního hudebního tělesa až po orchestr s celoročním provozem a všímá si postupného formování orchestru osobnostmi, které působily v jeho vedení. V textu je podrobně zmiňována spolupráce orchestru se zahraničními i domácími tělesy, sólisty a dirigenty, i účast orchestru na hudebních festivalech a koncertních turné.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis „The Modern Era of West-Bohemian Symphony Orchestra - since the End of Second World War up to the Present Time” deals in detail with the post-war period of almost 70 years of history of this ensemble. This work outlines the orchestra’s gradual transformation from a seasonal ensemble up to the resident, round-the-year orchestra, considering the impact of significant musicians who, as leading figures were engaged in its development. At the same time, cooperation with other musical ensembles, soloists and conductors, both from home and abroad, is mentioned, together with participation of the orchestra in festivals and concert tours.
