The utilization of nanotoxicological methods for the study of advanced materials

Abstract:

Díky své velikosti a unikátním vlastnostem nalezly nanočástice uplatnění v širokém spektru odvětví, mimo jiné i v medicíně. Aby nanočástice mohly být využity v medicíně, je zapotřebí otestovat jejich toxicitu a biokompatibilitu. V rámci této práce byly testovány čtyři druhy nanočástic (palladiové (PdNPs), rhodiové (RhNPs), rutheniové (RuNPs) a platinové (PtNPs)). Jejich toxicita byla sledována na nenádorových buněčných liniích HaCaT a HEK 293. Dále byla sledována tvorba proteinových koron v plazmě a interakce nanočástic s červenými krvinkami. Na základě těchto analýz bylo zjištěno možné využití sledovaných nanočástic v medicíně za předpokladu dalšího testování.

Abstract:

Thanks to their size and unique properties, nanoparticles have found application in a wide range of branches, including medicine. In order for nanoparticles to be used in medicine, their toxicity and biocompatibility need to be tested. In this work, four types of nanoparticles were tested (palladium (PdNPs), rhodium (RhNPs), ruthenium (RuNPs) and platinum (PtNPs)). Their toxicity was monitored on the HaCaT and HEK 293 non - tumorous cell lines. The formation of protein corona in plasma and interactions nanoparticles with red blood cells were also monitored. Based on these analyzes, the possible use of the monitored nanoparticles in the medicine was determined, subject to further testing.
