Abstract:

Alergická onemocnění jsou čím dál tím častěji se vyskytujícím problémem, ať už v humánní medicíně či medicíně veterinární. Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o alergiích, které postihují populaci koní. Cílem této práce bylo popsat jednotlivé typy alergií a jejich projevy, poukázat na případnou predispozici určitého plemene, věku či pohlaví a nastínit vhodnou léčbu a možnou prevenci.Alergií se označuje nepřiměřená reakce imunitního systému jedince na látky z vnějšího prostředí, které u zdravého jedince nevyvolají žádnou abnormální reakci. Pro lepší pochopení problematiky alergií byla tato bakalářská práce rozdělena na dvě části. První část je věnována imunitnímu systému. Je zde vysvětlena jeho funkce, vlastnosti, jednotlivé části apod. Druhá část práce se zabývá problematikou alergických onemocnění již podrobněji.První kapitola druhé části je věnována hypersenzitivitě (přecitlivělosti), která je s alergiemi úzce spjata. Termíny alergie a hypersenzitivita jsou často považovány za synonyma. Ve skutečnosti je ale alergie míněna jako klinický projev hypersenzitivity I. typu.Dále se práce zabývá popisem vybraných typů onemocnění, mezi které patří letní a atopická dermatitida, alergická kontaktní dermatitida, potravinová alergie a alergie na léky. Mezi primární klinické příznaky těchto onemocnění patří pruritus (svědění) a kopřivka. Další popsaná onemocnění postihují především dýchací soustavu koně. Patří mezi ně rekurentní obstrukce dýchacích cest, obstrukční onemocnění plic spojené s pastvou a zánětlivé onemocnění dýchacích cest.Poslední téma probrané v této práci je syndrom headshakingu, který není brán jako klasické onemocnění, ale uvažuje se o něm jako o možném projevu jiného diskomfortu koně. V této práci je o něm zmínka díky tomu, že jedním z důvodů výskytu headshakingu může být právě alergické onemocnění.Dále jsou u jednotlivých typů alergických onemocnění uvedeny diagnostické metody, které se využívají a možná prevence, která je u řady onemocnění zásadní. Terapie spočívá především v zamezení styku postiženého jedince s alergenem. Je dostupná i řada jiných léčebných metod, které mají především za úkol snížit intenzitu klinických příznaků, žádná ale nebude dostatečně účinná, pokud jedinec bude i nadále vystavován alergenu.Jasná plemenná, věková či pohlavní predispozice často nebyla dokázána. Jsou ale známy určité skupiny jedinců, kteří jsou náchylnější k propuknutí některého typu alergie. U jedinců, kteří vykazují příznaky alergického onemocnění, je toto často dostatečným důvodem k vyřazení z chovu. Existuje totiž nejedna studie, které dokazuje, že u potomků je často vyšší procento možného výskytu alergického onemocnění než u koní, kteří mají oba rodiče zdravé.

Abstract:

Allergic diseases are an increasingly common problem, whether in human medicine or veterinary medicine. This bachelor thesis deals with allergies that affect the horse population. This work aimed to describe the various types of allergies and their manifestations, to identify the possible predisposition to a particular breed, age or sex, and to outline appropriate treatment and possible prevention.Allergic reactions are inappropriate responses of the immune system to substances from the environment, which do not cause any abnormal reaction in a healthy individual. To better understand the issue of allergies, this bachelor thesis was divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to the immune system. It explains its function, features, individual parts, etc. The second part of the work deals with the issue of allergic diseases in more detail.The first chapter of the second part is devoted to hypersensitivity (oversensitiveness), which is closely related to allergies. The terms allergy and hypersensitivity are often considered synonymous. However, allergy is meant as a clinical manifestation of type I hypersensitivity.Furthermore, the work describes selected types of diseases, which include Culicoides hypersensitivity, atopic dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, food allergy, and drug allergy. The primary clinical signs of these diseases include pruritus (itching) and urticaria. Other described diseases affect mainly the horse's respiratory system. These include recurrent airway obstruction, summer pasture-associated obstructive pulmonary disease, and inflammatory airway disease.The last topic discussed in this work is the headshaking syndrome, which is not taken as a classic disease but is considered as a possible manifestation of another discomfort of the horse. It is mentioned in this work since one of the reasons for the occurrence of headshaking syndrome may be an allergic disease.Furthermore, the diagnostic methods used for individual types of allergic diseases are described, as well as possible methods of prevention, which is essential for many diseases. The therapy of the affected individual consists mainly in avoiding contact with an allergen. There are several other treatments available that primarily reduce the intensity of clinical symptoms, but none will be effective enough if the individual continues to be exposed to the allergen.In many cases no apparent sex, age or breed predisposition was found. However, certain groups of individuals are known to be more prone to some type of allergy. The manifestation of an allergic disease is often a sufficient reason for the exclusion of animals from breeding. Indeed, there are several studies that the offspring of affected individuals often have a higher rate of allergic disease compared to horses whose both parents are healthy.
