Comparison of the role of the American and the British women in the 1930s

Abstract:

Tato práce si klade za cíl porovnat rozdíly, či shodné prvky ve vnímání role ženy ve společnosti třicátých let 20. století ve Spojených státech amerických a Velké Británii. Zjišťuje, zda a jakým způsobem ovlivnila společnost vnímání žen a jejich rozhodování v osobních záležitostech. Tato diplomová práce klade důraz na veřejnou, profesní, kulturní, soukromou a intimní sféru života.

Abstract:

This work aims to compare the differences and similarities in perception of the role of women in the 1930s in the United States and the United Kingdom. It examines whether and how society has affected the perception of women and their decision-making in personal matters. This diploma thesis puts emphasis on the public, professional, cultural, private and intimate sphere of life.
