Power of habits in current economic world

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vztahem mezi individuálními zvyky, seberegulací a pracovními návyky jednotlivce. Cílem je porovnat míru automatizace aktivit jednotlivce a jejich postoje se schopností seberegulace a pracovní pozicí. Další otázkou, kterou se práce zabývá, je zda schopnost seberegulace má vazbu na úroveň automatizace chování, tedy zvyky. Výzkum využívá kombinaci metod SRQ pro kvantifikaci schopnosti seberegulace a COHS pro kvantifikaci úrovně automatizace chování tedy síly zvyků. Výzkum byl proveden na 105 respondentech žijící na území České Republiku.Výsledky výzkumu naznačují vazbu mezi schopností seberegulace s pracovní zkušeností. Jedinci s již existující pracovní zkušeností mají statisticky významně vyšší úroveň seberegulace než „pouze studující“ nebo „nestudující ani nepracující“ lidé. Dále výzkum naznačuje vazbu mezi silou zvyku a některými schopnostmi seberegulace. Konkrétně, že úroveň schopností „získávání relevantních informací“, „aktivní hledání možností pro změnu“ a „implementace plánu pro změnu“ mají závislost na úroveň automatizace chování jednotlivce. Výzkum naznačuje, že s klesající úrovní těchto schopností je u člověka zaznamenána vyšší úroveň automatizace, tedy síly zvyku.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis researches relation between individual habits, self-regulation and working habits. The focus is on comparing level of one’s activity automation and one’s attitude with their abilities to self-regulate and their level in organization hierarchy. Another question is whether there exists a link between capability to self-regulate and level of activity automation, defined as quantification of power of habit. Research is using combination of methods SRQ for quantification of self-regulation capability and COHS for quantification of level of activity automation, thus power of habit. Research was using responses from 105 respondents living in Czech Republic.Analyses suggest link between self-regulation capabilities and working experience. Respondents with already established working experience are with statistically higher level of SRQ comparing to people that are “only studying” or “neither studying nor working”. Additionally there were sign that level of behaviour automation were related to specific capabilities of self-regulation namely “capability to receive relevant information”, “capability to actively search for different options” and “capability to plan implementation”. Results suggests that with lower level of these capabilities respondents has higher level of behaviour automation.
