Between tradition and contemporaneity: a thematic exploration of the indigenous literature of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia

Abstract:

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to present the cosmogony and lifestyle of the indigenous tribes of the Sierra Nevada, especially the Kogi, through the analysis and comparison of the oral literature collected in the anthology "Antes el amanecer: antología de las literaturas indígenas de los Andes y la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta" (2010). The theoretical part deals with the history, origins, political and social organization of the Kogi tribe and also presents the study of indigenous literature as oral texts. The practical part focuses on the analysis of traditional Kogi stories, evaluating the motifs present, comparing them with those of other ethnic groups and examining their narrative function. Particular emphasis is placed on the specific role of these texts within the indigenous community.The text of the abstract.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je přiblížit kosmogonii a životní styl domorodých kmenů ze Sierra Nevady, zejména Kogiů, prostřednictvím analýzy a srovnání ústní literatury shromážděné v antologii "Antes el amanecer: antología de las literaturas indígenas de los Andes y la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta" (2010). Teoretická část se zabývá historií, původem, politickým a společenským uspořádáním kmene Kogi a představuje také studium domorodé literatury jako ústních textů. Praktická část se zaměřuje na analýzu tradičních příběhů kmene Kogi, vyhodnocuje přítomné motivy, porovnává je s příběhy jiných etnik a zkoumá jejich narativní funkci. Zvláštní důraz je kladen na specifickou roli těchto textů v rámci domorodého společenství.
