Uranium bearing minerals from durbachites.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá studiem akcesorických minerálů obsahujících uran a migrací uranu v horninách s nejvyšší radioaktivitou v Třebíči, Petrovicích, Nové Vsi u Nového Města na Moravě a Řikoníně. Pro studium celkového složení hornin byla použita optická mikroskopie, pro studium akcesorických minerálů byla použita elektronová mikroskopie a mikroanalýza. Byly studovány následující akcesorické minerály: zirkon, thorit, uraninit, titanit, apatit, REE-F-karbonát, monazit a allanit. Horniny byly poměrně málo alterované, bylo v nich zjištěno několik typů alterace, chloritizace, metamiktizace a alterace proudícími alkalickými fluidy bohatými Fe, P, Al, F, Ca, F a REE. V důsledku alterace došlo ke vzniku sekundárních akcesorických minerálů, a to REE-F-karbonátu, monazitu a titanitu. V zirkonu, allanitu, REE-F-karbonátu a monazitu byly naměřeny poměrně nízké obsahy uranu a nebyly zjištěny ani stopy po jeho migraci, uran byl v těchto horninách poměrně stabilní.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the study of accessory minerals containing uranium and the migration of uranium in rocks with the highest radioactivity in Třebíč, Petrovice, Nová Ves u Nového Města na Moravě and Řikonín. The optical microscopy was used for studying the whole rock composition and the electron microscopy and microanalysis was used for studying accessory minerals. The following accessory minerals were studied: zircon, thorite, uraninite, titanite, apatite, REE-F-carbonate, monazite and allanite. In studied localities, there are partly altered rocks. There were found several types of alteration: chloritization, metamictization and alteration by interaction with alkaline fluids rich in Fe, P, Al, F, Ca, F and REE. Secondary accessory minerals, namely REE-F-carbonate, monazite and titanite, were formed as a result of alteration. Relatively low uranium contents were measured in zircon, allanite, REE-F-carbonate and monazite. No traces of uranium migration were detected, uranium was relatively stable in these rocks.
