Effect of biologically active substances and xenobiotics on endocrine regulation of kidney function

Abstract:

V životním prostředí se vyskytují xenobiotika a biologicky aktivní látky, které mohou mít vliv na činnost ledvin. Ledviny jsou životně důležitý orgán, který zabezpečuje homeostázu organismu, udržuje stálý objem extracelulární tekutiny a reguluje iontovou a acidobazickou rovnováhu, a jakákoliv odchylka od normálního stavu může být pro organismus zátěží. Výše uvedené látky jsou takové, které se do organismu dostanou prostřednictvím potravy, vody, ale i vzduchem. Mohou to být biologicky aktivní látky s antioxidačními nebo terapeutickými účinky, které mohou stimulovat a chránit ledviny, ale také to mohou být látky, které jsou pro organismus toxické a mohou naopak ledviny ovlivnit negativně. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivy těchto látek na činnost jednotlivých částí savčích ledvin. V literární rešerši je v jednotlivých kapitolách popsán základní přehled anatomie a fyziologie ledvin, mechanismu tvorby moči, zabezpečovaný glomerulární filtrací, tubulární reabsorpcí a tubulární sekrecí. Jsou zde zmíněny základní funkce ledvin a je popsána základní funkční jednotka ledviny - nefron. Součástí rešerše je také endokrinní regulace ledvin a je podrobně pojednáno o látkách, které mají, nebo by mohly mít určitý vliv na činnost ledvin. V poslední části práce je navržena hypotéza vlivu látek na regulaci činnosti ledvin a teoretický návrh metodiky pro její ověření.

Abstract:

There are biologically active substances and xenobiotics in the environment that can affect kidney function. The kidney is a vital organ that ensures the homeostasis of the body, maintains a constant volume of extracellular fluid and regulates the ionic and acid-base balance, and any deviation from the normal state can be a burden for the organism. The substances mentioned above are those that enter the body through food, water but also through the air. They can be biologically active substances with antioxidant or therapeutic effects that can stimulate and protect the kidneys, but they can also be substances which are toxic to the body and they can affect the kidneys negatively. This bachelor thesis deals with the effects of these substances on the function of different parts of the mammalian kidney. In the literature review, a basic overview of the anatomy and physiology of the kidney, the mechanism of urine production, provided by glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption and tubular secretion, is described in the individual chapters. The basic functions of the kidney are mentioned and the basic functional unit of the kidney - the nephron - is described. The endocrine regulation of the kidney is also discussed and substances that have or could have an effect on renal function are discussed in detail. In the last part of the thesis, a hypothesis of the influence of substances on the regulation of kidney function is proposed, and a theoretical methodology for its verification is proposed.
