The Swiss economy in the early 21st century

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o švýcarské ekonomice na počátku 21. století. Ekonomika Švýcarska je jednou z nejvyspělejších světa, nicméně události poslední doby, jako byla dluhová krize eurozóny, její postavení mohly ohrozit. Cílem práce je tedy analýza současného stavu švýcarské ekonomiky na základě makroekonomických ukazatelů, definování hlavních zdrojů rizik a predikce budoucího vývoje švýcarského hospodářství. Významná část práce je rovněž věnována charakteristice jednotlivých odvětví Švýcarska. První část práce se zabývá obecnou charakteristikou Švýcarska a analýzou jeho současné ekonomiky. Další část pojednává o jednotlivých sektorech hospodářství, zahraničním obchodu a vztahu Švýcarska k integracím. Třetí část práce je věnována perspektivám švýcarské ekonomiky, v rámci nichž definuji hlavní zdroje rizika, stanovuji opatření, jak těmto rizikům předcházet a predikuji budoucí vývoj švýcarské ekonomiky.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the Swiss economy in the early 21st century. The economy of Switzerland is one of the most developed in the world, but recent events such as the eurozone debt crisis could threaten its position. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current state of the Swiss economy, while defining the main sources of risks and predicting the future development of the Swiss economy. A significiant part of the thesis also focuses on the characteristics of each sector in Switzerland. The first chapter deals with the general characteristic of Switzerland and analysis of its current economy. The next chapter is focused on the sectors of economy, foreign trade and on the attitude of Switzerland to the issues of economic and politic integrations. The third part is devoted to the description of the prospects of the Swiss economy, within which I define the main sources of risks and suggest the measures to be taken to protect the Swiss economy from these risks. In this part I predict the future development of the Swiss economy, too.
