Educational trails in Czechia and their role in tourism

Abstract:

Naučné stezky, jako druh značených tras v krajině, předávají prostřednictvím informačních tabulí o kulturních, přírodovědných a jiných zajímavostech a specificích území. Cílem bakalářské práce je charakterizovat zaměření naučných stezek, jejich typy a specifika v Česku a formou případové studie posoudit zda vybrané naučné stezky v oblasti Ostravska, která je součástí turistického regionu Severní Moravy a Slezska, sehrávají významnější roli v lokálním rozvoji zaměřeném na turistický ruch. Pro výzkum byly použity kompilační metody, metoda terénního výzkumu, metoda případové studie s rozhovory a grafické interpretace. Bakalářská práce se v úvodu zabývá metodickými postupy, poté následuje rešerše vybraných literárních a dalších zdrojů literatury, která se zabývá naučnými stezkami. Empirická část se zabývá zaměřením naučných stezek v Česku, s využitím kvantitativní analýzy a za pomocí sběru sekundárních dat. Případová studie byla uplatněna v klíčové kapitole celé práce, kterou je role naučných stezek v lokálním rozvoji na území Ostravska. Zde byla použita metoda rozhovorů se zainteresovanými aktéry ve vybraných obcích.

Abstract:

Educational trails are a type of marked trails through the landscape that use information boards to convey cultural, scientific and other information relevant or unique to the area. The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to characterise the focus of educational trails as well as their types and distinctive features in the Czech Republic. A case study was used to determine whether selected educational trails in the Ostrava region (part of the tourist region of North Moravia and Silesia) play a significant role in the local development of tourism. The methods used for this study include compilation, field research, case study with interviews and data visualisation. The thesis first discusses the methods, then moves on to research selected works of literature on the topic of educational trails. The empirical part analyses the focus of Czech educational trails, utilising quantitative analysis and gathering secondary data. The case study is applied in the central chapter which focuses on the role educational trails play in local development in the Ostrava region. For these purposes, respondents from the area have been interviewed.
