The Representation of Asian Americans in American Movies
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis examines how positive stereotypes harm Asian Americans and the pressure they face to conform to these stereotypes. However, this thesis will also briefly present their history and how the perception of Asian Americans has changed over time. The main focus is on the ways in which filmmakers portray them in films.
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tím, jak pozitivní stereotypy škodí asijským Američanům a jakému nátlaku čelí, aby se těmto stereotypům přizpůsobili. Tato práce však také stručně představí jejich historii a to, jak se v průběhu času vnímání asijských Američanů změnilo. Hlavní pozornost je věnována způsobům, jakými je tvůrci ve filmech zobrazují.
