Cellular immunity of invertebrates

Abstract:

Imunitní reakce bezobratlých se dělí do třech kategorií: vnější bariéry, buněčná imunita a humorální imunita. Buněčná imunita je v organismu zajišťována krevními buňkami (imunocyty, hemocyty), jejichž klasifikace není dosud jednoznačná, díky jejich morfologické rozmanitosti. Hemocyty se podílejí na několika imunitních reakcích v organismu, které mají zamezit ztrátám tekutiny a vniknutí cizorodých látek do organismu. Reakce, kterých se hemocyty účastní, jsou: hojení ran, enkapsulace, nodulace a fagocytóza. Při hojení ran dochází ke shlukování hemocytů v místě poranění a k vytvoření zátky. U některých bezobratlých byly pozorovány další reakce (vazokonstrikce a koagulace), které se na hojení ran podílejí. Enkapsulací jsou z organismu odstraněny cizorodé látky, které jsou příliš velké na to, aby byly fagocytovány. Jsou to především paraziti (tasemnice, hlístice,..). Nodulace probíhá, pokud se v organismu vyskytne velké množství cizorodých látek, např. bakterií. Fagocytóza je nejdůležitější reakcí buněčné imunity. Vyskytuje se u všech bezobratlých. Fagocytární aktivitu hemocytů lze stanovit různými metodami, např. pomocí MSH partikulí nebo fotometricky. Praktická část této práce je věnována stanovení fagocytární aktivity metodou ingesce MSH partikulí.

Abstract:

Immune reactions of invertebrates can be divided into three categories: physical and chemical barriers, cellular immunity and humoral immunity. The cellular immunity is based on hemocytes (immunocytes). The classification of hemocytes isn’t uniform valued for their morphological diversity. Hemocytes are involved in some immunity reactions in organism. These reactions prevent loss of liquid and penetration of foreign particles into organism. Reactions, in which hemocytes participate, are: wound healing, encapsulation, nodule formation and phagocytosis. During the wound healing there is a migration of hemocytes into the wound-sites and hemocytes make a clot. In some taxons of invertebrates there were observed other reactions (vasoconstriction, coagulation), which take part in wound healing. Foreign particles, which are too big for phagocytosis, are removed from organism by encapsulation. These particles are especially parasites (tapeworm, nematode worm,…). Nodule formation occurs if a big amount of foreign particles, for example bacteria, are in organism. Phagocytosis is the most important reaction of cellular immunity. It is found in all of invertebrates. Activity of hemocytes in phagocytosis can be measured by different methods, for example using MSH particulars or photometry. Experimental part of this work is devoted to measurement of hemocyt‘s activity in phagocytosis by the help of MSH particulars.
