Social representation of using stories and imaginations with the elements of fairy tales, myths and legends for work with people dealing with a trauma

Abstract:

Práce zkoumá sociální reprezentace využívání imaginace a práce s příběhy s prvky mýtů, legend a pohádek u sociálních pracovníků a psychoterapeutů. Hlavní výzkumná otázka se zaměřuje na podobnosti a rozdíly sociálních reprezentací využívání imaginace a práce s příběhy s prvky mýtů, legend a pohádek u sociálních pracovníků a psychoterapeutů. V teoretické části představuji hlavní pojmy vážící se k hlavní výzkumné otázce a přístupy, v rámci kterých je možné imaginaci či práci s příběhy využívat. Dále v ní popisuji vybrané cílové skupiny, se kterými lze imaginaci či práci s příběhy využít, a klíčový teoretický koncept, kterým jsou sociální reprezentace. Výzkum je založen na kvalitativní strategii, realizován formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se čtyřmi sociálními pracovníky a pěti psychoterapeuty. Získaná data interpretuji metodou otevřeného a axiálního kódování. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že největší podobnost se týká podmínek terapie, konkrétně přístupu klienta ke spolupráci. Nejvíce se pak pracovníci liší v názoru na možnost výskytu abreakce klienta.

Abstract:

This thesis examines social representations of using stories and imaginations with elements of myths, legends and fairy tales among social workers and psychotherapists. The primary research question focuses on the similarities and the differences of the social representations using imaginations and stories with elements of myths, legends and fairy tales among social workers and psychotherapists. In the theoretical part I present main concepts related to the primary research questions and also the approaches in which it is possible to use imaginations and the stories. Thereinafter I describe chosen target groups where it is possible to use those imaginations and stories. I also describe the crucial theoretical concept – the social representations. The research is based on the qualitative strategy; it is implemented through semi-structured interviews with four social workers and five psychotherapists. The obtained data are interpreted on the basis of open and axial coding. From the result of the research ensue that the biggest similarities are in the conditions of the therapy, particularly it depends on the approach of the clients cooperation. Mostly the workers differ in the opinion of the occurrence the client’s abreaction.
