The thesis discusses the influence of Henry David Thoreau’s life and writing on the development of ecocriticism and demonstrates his relevance to ecocriticism’s second wave. This is achieved by taking a different perspective on his life that lead up to his experiment which consequently became his most famous work Walden, analyzing the outcomes of this experiment in relevance to ecocritical writing …more
