Birth rate and fertility in the Czech lands in the 1990s and present

Abstract:

Cílem práce je zhodnotit a popsat porodnost a plodnost v 90. letech a současnosti na území České republiky, zaměřit se zejména na příčiny tak prudkého poklesu plodnosti a jejího opětovného růstu. Zhodnotit změny v demografickém chování populace. Popsat a vyhodnotit vývoj a trendy porodnosti a plodnosti. Zaměřit se také na strukturu narozených podle pořadí. Na základě vybraných projekcí Českého statistického úřadu porovnat skutečný a projektovaný počet živě narozených dětí od roku 1966 do současnosti, a současně také vyhodnotit případné rozdíly. Při analýze je využita metoda výpočtu projekce pomocí komponentní metody s migrací.Práce je rozdělena do tří částí. První část je teoretická a obsahuje úvod do problematiky porodnosti a plodnost a jejich vývoj s příchodem společensko-politické změny na přelomu osmdesátých a devadesátých let minulého století. Druhá část je analytická a je tvořena analýzou plodnosti a porodnosti v průběhu 90. let. Třetí, analytická, část práce porovnává skutečnou a predikovanou porodnost v České republice a dále je provedena projekce komponentní metodou s migrací s horizontem projekce do roku 2065.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate and describe birth rate and fertility in the 1990s and also presently in the territory of the Czech Republic, focusing mainly on causes of so severe decline of fertility and its re-growth. Assess of changes in demographic behavior of the population. Describing and evaluating the development and trends of birth and fertility. Also focus on the structure of births according the order of born. Based on the selected projections of the Czech Statistical Office, compare the actual and projected number of live births from 1966 to the present, and also assess differences. The method of calculating the projection using the component method with migration is used in the analysis.The thesis is divided into three parts. The first theoretical part contains an introduction to fertility and birth rate issues and their development with socio-political change at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. The second part is analytical and consists of a fertility and birth rate analysis during the 1990s. The third, analytical, part of the work compares the actual and predicted number of live births in the Czech Republic and the projection is made by the component method with migration with the projection horizon until 2065.
