The Concept of Responsibility of Hans Jonas and Emmanuel Levinas

Abstract:

Předmětem bakalářské práce je analýza pojetí odpovědnosti ve filosofii a myšlení Emmanuela Lévinase a Hanse Jonase. Práce se zabývá pojmy, které v jejich filosofii nabývají jiného, snad hlubšího významu. První a druhá kapitola pojednávají o životě a díle Emmanuela Lévinase a Hanse Jonase a jejich vztahu k židovství a Talmudu. Další kapitoly jsou věnovány vysvětlení důležitých pojmů, jako např. metafyzika, heuristika strachu, asymetrie a svoboda. Hlavním zájmem je pojetí odpovědnosti a koncepce pojmu existence, především Lévinasovo pojetí existence, jako anonymního bytí. V závěru práce se nachází srovnání obou autorů a jejich přístup k tématu etiky a odpovědnosti.

Abstract:

The main aim of my bachelor thesis is an analysis of responsibility in the philosophy and cogitation of Emmanuel Levinas and Hans Jonas. The work deals with the key concepts which have a different and possibly more profound meaning in their philosophy. The first and second chapters treat about the life and publication and about the relation with Judaism and Talmud. Another chapters are applied to an explanation of important terms, e.g. metaphysics, heuristics of fear, asymmetry and freedom. Central interest is a conception of responsibility and conception of the existence, mainly Levinas conception of the existence as anonymous existence. In the conclusion, there is a comparison of the two authors and their approach to the topic of ethic and responsibility.
