The Probes into Setting of Vladimír Holan's Poetry to Music in 20th and 21st Century

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce Sondy do zhudebňování poezie Vladimíra Holana ve XX. a XI. století se zabývá analýzou skladeb tří českých skladatelů, jejichž textovou předlohou je poezie klasika české literatury Vladimíra Holana (1905-1980). Jedná se o skladby Holanovská reminiscence (1995) Marka Kopelenta, Ani bolest nedožijem… (1997) Lukáše Matouška, a Troufalost (1999) Ondřeje Štochla. V úvodu se práce zabývá výchozím stavem bádání, životem a dílem Vladimíra Holana, jeho vztahem k hudbě a v neposlední řadě také metodou textové koláže, kterou dva ze skladatelů využívají při své práci s textem. Práce přináší také další dohledaná hudební díla inspirovaná poezií Vladimíra Holana.

Abstract:

This dissertation The Probes into Setting of Vladimir Holan´s Poetry to Music in the 20th and the 21st Century analyses artificial compositions of three music composers that were based on poems of famous Czech poet Vladimir Holan (1905-1980). All these three compositions were composed during the same decade of the 20th century: Marek Kopelent´s Holanovská reminiscence (1995), Lukáš Matoušek´s Ani bolest nedožijem… (1997) and Ondřej Štochl´s Troufalost (1999). In the introduction of this thesis is described the contemporary status of research, then I pay attention to life and work of poet Vladimir Holan, his relation to music, also the method of text collage is discussed, i. e. approach of music composers to original Holan´s texts. Moreover this thesis also significantly extends the list of artificial music opuses inspired by poems of Vladimir Holan.
