Profile of Slovak artist Pavol Mihalko over forty years of artistic activity
Abstract:
Pavol Mihalko was born in Trenčianske Bohuslavice in 1943. He studied art only in adulthood by taking lessons from painters Juraj Krén, Václav Menza and prof. Peter Matejka. He did not make an academic title, but his work reaches international size. He was a book illustrator and founder of The international symposium VAGUS.
Abstract:
Pavol Mihalko sa narodil v Trenčianskych Bohuslaviciach v roku 1943. Umeleckého vzdelania sa mu však dostalo až v dospelosti, prostredníctvom vlastnej iniciatívy u maliarov Juraja Kréna, Václava Menzu a prof. Petra Matejku. Nikdy nedosiahol akademický titul, avšak jeho dielo má medzinárodný presah. Bol ilustrátorom viacerých kníh a založil Medzinárodné sympózium VAGUS.
