Abstract:
In this dissertation, I focus on the subjectivity and its form of representation in the prose works of Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath, namely To the Lighthouse (1927), The Waves (1931) and The Bell Jar (1963). I try to define this concept in spite of varying approaches in different fields and consider its presence significant in the texts of both authors.
