Bakalářská práce se zabývá nastíněním vývoje problematiky lidských práv v jednotlivých vlnách rozšiřování. Hypotéza práce zněla, že Evropská unie nemá předem definovaná kritéria, týkající se problematiky lidských práv a postrádá jednotný model pro posuzování připravenosti kandidátských zemí se stanovenými požadavky.
