Search for asteroid pairs/clusters and their age estimation

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá hledáním planetkových párů a klastrů. První kapitola obsahuje informace týkající se základních charakteristik planetek, jejich výskytu ve Sluneční soustavě a jejich značení. Druhá kapitola popisuje rozdíly mezi binárními planetkami, planetkovými páry, planetkovými klastry a rodinami planetek. Ve třetí kapitole jsou nejprve na základě podobností drah vytipováni kandidáti na planetkové páry a klastry. Poté je za pomoci N-částicových zpětných integrací odhadováno jejich stáří. Celkem je objeveno 58 nových planetkových párů a 10 nových planetkových klastrů.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the search for asteroid pairs and clusters. The first chapter provides information on the basic characteristics of asteroids, their distribution in the Solar System and their designations. The second chapter describes the differences between binary asteroids, asteroid pairs, asteroid clusters and asteroid families. In the third chapter, candidates for asteroid pairs and clusters are selected based on the similarity of their orbits. Then, using N-body backward integration, their ages are estimated. In total, 58 new asteroid pairs and 10 new asteroid clusters are found.
