Evaluation of the use of Thoroughbred in equestrian sport in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce na téma „Zhodnocení využití anglického plnokrevníka v jezdeckém sportu v České republice“, se zabývá plemenem anglický plnokrevník a jeho propojením a vazbou na jednotlivá jezdecká sportovní odvětví. V úvodní části zacházím do historie, kde je popsán vznik a vývoj plemene z původních linií. Dále je rozebrána charakteristika koní plemene anglický plnokrevník, což zahrnuje definici, vlastnosti a chování, a také popis exteriéru. V další části literárního přehledu této bakalářské práce jsou charakterizována jednotlivá odvětví jezdeckého sportu a organizace, které řídí kompletní fungování a chod v České republice i ve světě. Poté jsou zmíněny informace týkající se soutěží parkurových, drezurních a soutěží všestrannosti. Samozřejmě nechybí ani sportovní propojení zaměřené na anglické plnokrevníky a výčet úspěšných zástupců tohoto plemene na vrcholové úrovni. V závěrečné části jsou zařazeny informace hodnotící počty a stavy koní plemene anglický plnokrevník, jejichž výsledkem bylo viditelné snižování a pokles těchto stavů hřebců a klisen v chovu v ČR. Celkový počet anglických plnokrevníků v ČR v roce 2019 byl 8969 koní. Dále nechybí ani praktický pohled do výkonnostních žebříčků za rok 2019, kde byli sledováni zástupci plemene anglický plnokrevník, což bylo dále diskutováno s dalšími autory. Výsledky ukázaly, že nejvíce zastoupené jezdecké odvětví je parkur (74 koní), dále všestrannost (69 koní) a poté drezura (10 koní). Dále bylo zjištěno, že nejzastoupenější pohlaví je valach (102 koní). Dalším kritériem byla výkonnost v jednotlivých disciplínách jezdeckého sportu. U parkuru se nejčastěji objevovala úro-veň Z (24 koní) a ZL (25 koní). V drezurních soutěžích bylo největší zastoupení na úrovni Z (5 koní) a u všestrannosti rovněž úrovně Z (20 koní) a ZL (16 koní).

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis with the topic “Evaluation of the use of Thoroughbred in equestri-an sport in the Czech Republic” focuses on Thoroughbred breed and its connection to the equestrian sport. In the introduction, there is a brief look back into history of this breed and description of the origin and development of the breed from the original lines. Next is analysed characteristics of horses of the Thoroughbred breed which in-cludes definition, characteristics and behaviour, and the description of conformation.In the next part of the literary section there are characterized individual branch-es of equestrian sport and organizations that are responsible for the functioning in the Czech Republic and abroad as well. This thesis also includes concrete information about show jumping, dressage, and eventing competitions. Certainly, there is also mentioned a sport connection focused on the thoroughbreds and a list of successful representatives of this breed at the highest sport level.The final sections provide information related to numbers of horses of the Thoroughbred breed and there is the result where is visible decrease in these numbers of stallions and mares in breeding in the Czech Republic. The total number of Thor-oughbreds in the Czech Republic in 2019 was 8969 horses.There is also a practical look into the performance charts of the year 2019, where the representatives of the Thoroughbred breed were examined and subsequently it was discussed with the other authors. The results showed that the most represented equestrian sport is show jumping (74 horses), then eventing (69 horses) and then dres-sage (10 horses). It was also found that the most represented sex is a gelding (102 horses). Another criterion was performance in individual disciplines of equestrian sport. Levels Z (24 horses) and ZL (25 horses) appeared most often in the show jump-ing. In dressage competitions, the largest representation was at level Z (5 horses) and in eventing there were also levels Z (20 horses) and ZL (16 horses).
