Dynamic of basal area increment in pure Norway spruce stands with different silvicultural management in the Trutnov vicinity

Abstract:

Cílem mé bakalářské práce byla analýza a porovnání kruhové výčetní základny dvou nesmíšených porostů smrků ztepilého (Picea abies (L.) Karst) na Trutnovsku. Tyto porosty se odlišovaly způsobem porostní výchovy – uplatňovaly se zde silné a velmi silné podúrovňové zásahy. Zároveň byla hodnocena stabilita porostů dle štíhlostního kvocientu. Vyhodnocení probíhalo na základě dat získaných z dlouhodobých pěstebních experimentů v těchto porostech, kde navíc hrálo roli i imisní zatížení. Přestože kruhová výčetní základna u porostu s velmi silnými zásahy byla v posledním roce měření mírně vyšší, statistická analýza mezi těmito odlišně vychovávanými porosty neprokázala významný rozdíl.

Abstract:

My bachelor thesis aimed to analyse and compare the basal area increment in two pure Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst) stands in the Trutnov vicinity. These stands differed by the method of stand tending – there was applied strong and very strong thinning from below. Furthermore, the stand stability was evaluated through the slenderness ratio. The evaluation of the dataset obtained from long-term silvicultural experiments was performed in the stands mentioned above, which were subjected to air pollution in the past. Although the basal area in the stand with very strong thinning from below was slightly higher in the last year of the measurement, the statistical analysis showed no significant difference between studied stands with different stand tending applications.
