Dying patient in intensive care - the needs of relatives

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaké potřeby mají osoby blízké pacienta umírajícího v intenzivní péči a míru jejich naplnění. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořili 3 respondenti - příbuzní pacienta umírajícího v intenzivní péči. Polostrukturované interview, jehož volnou inspirací byl FIN dotazník, bylo realizováno v průběhu roku 2017. Jednalo se o kvalitativní výzkum, jehož cílem bylo zjistit hierarchii potřeb a míru jejich naplnění příbuzných pacienta umírajícího v intenzivní péči. Výsledky: Šetřením bylo zjištěno, že základní potřebou, kterou měli všichni účastnící, je potřeba informace. Míra jejich naplnění se lišila. Dvě respondentky uvedly, že měly dostatek informací, naopak jedna respondentka uvedla, že měla velmi málo informací. O práci sester - jejich empatii a přístupu se vyjadřovali všichni účastníci kladně. Naopak v přístupu lékařů byly zjištěny zásadní nedostatky. Vzhledem k tomu, že v jednom případě šlo o léčbu napříč obory, bylo zaznamenáno nevhodné chování lékařů i z jiné kliniky, přesto toto sdělení bylo v práci ponecháno pro zachování celkového kontextu. Závěr: Předávání informací osobám blízkým je zásadním aspektem pro jejich adaptaci na danou situaci. Všichni vyjádřili touhu mít pravdivé informace bez ohledu na jejich závažnost. Způsob předávání informací ze strany sester, převážně však lékařů, je považován za zcela zásadní.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of the work was to find out what kind ofneeds relatives of dying patients on intensive care have and the degree of their fulfillment. Methodology: The research group consists of 3 respondents - relatives of the patient dying in intensive care. A semi-structured interview was inspired by thethe FIN questionnaire and was carried out during 2017. This was a quanlitativeresearch aimed at finding out the hierarchy of needs and the degree of fulfillment of a relative of a patient who is breathing in intensive care. Results: The survey found that the basic need of all participants was the need for information. The rate of their fulfillment differed. Two respondents said they had enough information, but one respondent believed that they had very little information. The working nurse - their empathy and approach were evaluated by all participants positively. On the contrary, the physicians' access has revealed major shortcomings. Since one treatment was over the field, the inappropriate behavior of doctors and other clinics was noted, yet this job was left to the general context. Conclusion: Transmission of information to close relatives is an essential aspect of their adaptation to the situation. Everyone has expressed the desire to have true information, regardless of their severity. The way in which information is transmitted by the nurse, but mostly doctors, is considered to be absolutely essential.
