The current stage of electronic dance music in Brno

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na zmapování elektronické taneční hudby v Brně z hlediska DJs, kteří v Brně v současné době působí a udávají tak místní hudební scéně její specifickou tvář a směr, kterým se vyvíjí. Zabývat se budu její nekomerční sférou, konkrétně pak AVA kolektivem, jež se jeví jako zástupce experimentální techno scény, a pod nějž spadá například HRTL a společnost Bastl Instuments vyrábějící své vlastní syntetizátory, z drum and bassové scény klubem Perpetuum, dále pak DJi spadajícími pod klub VIBE, Psytrance Brno a mnohými dalšími, kteří se na existenci současné scény v Brně podílejí. Budu ji zkoumat jak z hlediska technologického, tak z produkčního.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on exploring of artists, producers and Djs from Brno, who are making electronic music. These people also make the Brno's electronic scene more specific and give the direction of its development. I will specialize on non-commercial side, specifically on AVA collective, which is the example of experimental techno scene, HRTL and Bastl Instruments - a company producing their own synthetizers, Perpetuum club as a home of Brno's drum and bass music, VIBE club and its DJs, Psytrance Brno and many more, who are the part of Brno's scene. I will examine it in terms of both technology and of the production.
