Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the Evaluation study of JRS Life Skills Education Centre in the context of life situation of Sri Lankan refugee women. The aim of this thesis was to assess the life situation of Sri Lankan Refugee Women with the past or actual experience of the JRS Life Skills Education centre and to provide perceived output of the project as well as recommendations for its enhancement from the respondents' points of view. This thesis is divided into three parts: theoretical, methodological and analytical. The theoretical part deals with the situation of refugees in India in general including their status, Indian international obligations and other groups of refugees living in India. It also focuses on the status and the situation of Sri lankan refugees, as well as their division into various groups, and introduction of Jesuit Refugee Service organization. The methodological part focuses on definition of the research question, qualitative approach in research, method, technique and instruments of obtaining qualitative data, study participants, data processing method, ethical issues in research, possible weaknesses of the research and qualitative data analysis. The final part, analytical, consists of the results of the research which may be used by the organisation where the research took place for better understanding of the life situation of participants, and for the overall enhancement of the project.

Abstract:

Tato magisterská práce se zabývá evaluační studií projektu "JRS Life Skills Education Centre" v kontextu životní situace uprchlic ze Srí Lanky. Cílem práce bylo zhodnotit životní situaci uprchlic ze Srí Lanky s aktuální či předchozí zkušeností s JRS projektem "Life Skills Education centre" a nastínit způsob jakým respondenti vnímají dopad projektu společně s doporučeními pro jeho zkvalitnění z pohledu samotných respondentů. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí: teoretické, metodologické a analytické. Teoretická část se zabývá obecně situací uprchlíků v Indii včetně jejich postavení, mezinárodních závazků Indie, a skupinami uprchlíků žijících v Indii. Dále potom situací a právním postavení uprchlíků ze Srí Lanky v Indii, rozdělením uprchlíků ze Srí Lanky na skupiny a představením organizace Jesuit Refugee Service. V metodologické části je definovaná výzkumná otázka, vysvětlen kvalitativní přístup, metody, techniky a nástroje získávání kvalitativních dat, výzkumný vzorek, metoda zpracování dat, etická hlediska výzkumu, možné omezení výzkumu, a analýza dat. Součástí analytické části jsou výsledky výzkumu, které mají primárně sloužit organizaci, ve které byl výzkum zhotoven k lepšímu porozumění životní situace účastníků projektu a k zefektivnění projektu jako takového.
