Gipsy song´s folklore

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena především na romský folklor v písních. Seznamuji blíže čtenáře s historií této etnické skupiny a poukazuji na krásu jejího kulturního dědictví a vyjadřování se skrze hudbu. Zaměřuji se především na oblast písní a uvádím jejich charakteristické rysy. Po formální a harmonické stránce analyzuji písňový cyklus soudobého skladatele Jiřího Bezděka, který upravil osm starých romských lidových písní pro akordeon, sbor a sólový hlas. Snažím se touto prací vyzdvihnout kladné stránky této menšiny a poukázat na to, že jsou lidmi se svými specifickými potřebami, historií a kulturou. Díky hudbě mají možnost se snadněji integrovat do majoritní společnosti, ve které žijí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is thematically focused on the gypsy folklore in songs. I introduce readers closer to the history of this ethnic group and point out the beauty of their cultural heritage and their expression through the music. I mainly pursue the songs and their typical features. I analyze the formal and harmonic aspects of the song cycle composed by contemporary composer Jiří Bezděk, who has edited eight old gypsy folk songs for accordion, chorus and solo voice. The aim of this thesis is to emphasize the positive aspects of this minority and to show that gypsy people have their specific needs, history and culture. Through the music itself they have the possibility to integrate more easily into society they live in.
