The diploma thesis is focused on the self-sufficiency and functional ability of patients before surgery and after implantation of the carpo-metacarpal joint of the thumb. The theoretical part summarizes the basic knowledge and is divided into chapters that deal with the issue of carpometacarpal thumb replacement, rhizarthrosis, treatment and subsequent rehabilitation.
