Real Hero, Fictional Hero: The Case Study of Pravomil Raichl

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce představuje případovou studii zabývající se jak historickou postavou válečného hrdiny plukovníka Pravomila Raichla, tak i fikčními díly, filmem Staříci a románem Pravomil aneb Ohlušující promlčení, které našly v Raichlově osudu inspirační zdroj. Práce se rovněž pokouší definovat v Raichlově biografii momenty se silným potenciálem pro fikční zpracování, přičemž tyto úvahy konfrontuje s již vzniklými díly. Nedílnou součástí práce je rovněž reflexe mediálního pokrytí tématu „Pravomil Raichl“ a ověření hypotézy, že po vzniku fikčních děl vzrostl o toto téma zájem.

Abstract:

This thesis presents a case study dealing with the historical character of the war hero Colonel Pravomil Raichl, as well as fictional works, the film Staříci and the novel Pravomil aneb Ohlušující promlčení, which found a source of inspiration in Raichl's life. The work also tries to define moments in Raichl's biography which bear strong potential for fictional processing, confronting these considerations with existing works. An integral part of the work is also reflective media coverage of the topic "Pravomil Raichl" and verification of a hypothesis that the interest in this topic increased after the emergence of the fictional works.
