University students` level of knowledge about new religious movements

Abstract:

Práce zjišťuje informovanost vysokoškolských studentů o problematice nových náboženských hnutí a jejich nebezpečích. Zjišťována je také informovanost třech podskupin. Vyhodnocení probíhalo na základě dotazníkového šetření, které poukázalo na nedostatečnou informovanost a na rozdíly u jednotlivých podskupin. Sami studenti se také cítí málo informováni a výuku tohoto tématu ve vzdělávacím systému nepovažují za dostatečnou. Zároveň část z nich uvádí přímou zkušenost s působením nových náboženských hnutí, což potvrzuje aktualitu tématu.

Abstract:

This thesis asserts the knowledge of university students about new religious groups and the dangers they pose. It also asserts this for three subgroups. Results were gained from evaluating questionnaires, and they show inadequate awareness among the group as a whole and differences between the individual subgroups. The students themselves feel insufficiently informed and think this topic is not given enough attention in the education system. At the same time a part mentions a direct experience with new religious group influence, which confirms the relevancy of the topic.
