Millennials and decision-making

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce s názvem „Mileniálové a rozhodování“ si klade za ambiciózní cíl prozkoumat mileniálskou generaci v České republice a získat na ni ucelený pohled. Zároveň také opovědět na otázku, zda se události Sametové revoluce promítly do generace českých mileniálů a v tomto důsledku došlo k rozštěpení mileniálské generace na dvě mikrogenerace – starší mileniály nebo též původní mileniály narozené mezi lety 1980-1989 včetně, a mladší mileniály nebo též Havlovy dětí narozené mezi lety 1990-2000 včetně. Poslední zkoumanou oblastí je problematika rozhodování mileniálské generace. Za vhodnou metodiku k ověření 3 hypotéz formulovaných v této práci byl zvolen kvantitativní výzkum v podobě dotazníkového šetření. Na základě provedeného zkoumání se podařilo získat ucelený náhled na české mileniály, ověřit hypotézu o tom, že čeští mileniálové se neliší od těch globálních a také, že existují rozdíly mezi mladšími a staršími mileniály.

Abstract:

This thesis, called "Millennials and Decision Making", has the aspiring goal of examining the millennial generation in the Czech Republic and gaining a comprehensive view of it. Simultaneously to answer the question whether the events of the Velvet Revolution had an impact on the generation of Czech millennials and resulted in splitting the millennial generation into two micro-generation - older millennials, also known as the original millennials, born between 1980-1989 inclusive, and younger millennials, also called the Havel's children, born between 1990-2000 inclusive. The last area examined is the issue of decision-making of the millennial generation. Quantitative research in the form of a questionnaire survey was chosen as the appropriate methodology to test the 3 hypotheses formulated in this paper. Based on the research conducted, it was possible to obtain a comprehensive view of Czech millennials, to test that they are no different from global ones and in addition, there are differences between younger and older millennials.
