Forest Education Ideological Background, Implementation of Forest Education in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Under the influence of Austrian Waldpädagogik, the term „Lesní pedagogika“ (LP) became known lately as teaching activities of foresters. Adaptation of this form has been conditioned by the support of 3 social actors: Forest Industry institutions (MZe, LČR..), voluntary coordinating association (SLP) and foresters themselves. We examine their motivation, strategies and impact on LP, the conception, organisation and funding strategies of which are still being developed. By the means of explorative research plan, Grounded Theory method and diversified data collection strategy (participative observation, interview, document study), we obtain a conceptual framework and use it in LP practice description, typology, interpretation of assorted symbols. On the basis of LP origins study, we assert its deviation from the original approach – Nature Awareness Education by the means of direct experience - on behalf of the Forest Industry promotion. We propose the label „Lesnická pedagogika“. Finally, we devise some research designs for more focused studies, including the sets of sensibilizating concepts

Abstract:

Pojem „Lesná pedagogika“(LP) sa pod vplyvom rakúskej Waldpädagogik v posledných rokoch v ČR vžil ako označenie pre pedagogickou činnosť lesníka. Adaptáciu tejto formy podmienila podpora podnikateľských a politických lesohospodárskych subjektov (MZe, LČR a ďalších), dobrovoľných koordinátorov LP (SLP) a samotnej lesníckej obce. Sledujeme ich motivácie, stratégie jednania a dopady na podobu českej LP, ktorej koncepcia, spôsob organizácie a financovania sa v súčasnosti stále ešte tvorí. V rámci explorácie tohto nového a teoreticky nepodchyteného fenoménu sa venujeme tiež popisu súčasnej podoby LP v praxi, návrhu typológie, nástinu používaných symbolov a im pripisovaných významov. Súbor konceptuálnych východísk je vypracovaný metódou zakotvenej teórie z dát získaných zúčastneným pozorovaním, interview s lesnými pedagógmi a štúdiom dokumentov. Na základe štúdia myšlienkových zdrojov LP dochádzame k záveru, že česká LP sa odklonila od pôvodnej koncepcie, výchovy k úcte k prírode metódou prežitku v prospech propagačnej prezentácie lesohospodárskej problematiky. Navrhujeme označenie Lesnícka pedagogika. Prezentujeme niekoľko návrhov fokusovanejšieho výskumu včetne senzibilizujúcich konceptov.
