The systemic approach in assessing of the clients' living situation in the context of social work

Abstract:

Anotace Autorka se ve své práci zaměřila na využití systemického přístupu při posouzení životní situace sociálními pracovníky - absolventy 4,5 letého výcviku v systemickém přístupu, kteří deklarují využití systemického přístupu ve své práci. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jak tito sociální pracovníci využívají svých znalostí nabytých v systemickém vzdělání při posouzení životní situace klienta. V teoretické části práce se autorka věnuje vymezení pojmů životní situace, proces posouzení, reflexivita v posouzení a systemický přístup. Výzkumná část práce, je věnována intepretaci výsledků kvalitativního šetření. Výzkum realizovaný v souladu s poznatky uvedenými v teoretické části byl proveden formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s šesti respondenty a byl zaměřen na konkrétní aspekty posouzení v kontextu systemického přístupu – stanovení cíle spolupráce neboli zakázky, hranice a způsob spolupráce s ohledem na kontext kontaktu pracovníka s klientem, využití reflexivity. Výzkum zjišťoval, jaké systemické nástroje využívají pracovníci v těchto aspektech posouzení. Současně měli respondenti popsat případné další systemické nástroje využívané v jiných kontextech posouzení a zhodnotit celkový přínos systemického přístupu pro posouzení životní situace klienta. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že hlavní přínos spatřují pracovníci v konstruktivistických východiscích systemického přístupu a v pojetí klienta jako experta kompetentního k řešení svých problémů. Model zakázky vítají především při angažmá třetí strany při řešení problému a reflexivní praxe je často spojována s pocitem odolání jistotě při posouzení. Některé nástroje, které jsou respondenty považovány za systemické, lze najít rovněž v jiných přístupech využívaných v sociální práci. Celkový rozsah práce je 22 847 slov.

Abstract:

Annotation The author focuses on using of the systemic approach to the assessment of a life situation by social workers – graduates from a four and a half year training in the systemic approach, who declare the use of the systemic approach in their work. The objective of this work was to find out how do these social workers use their knowledge, which they had gained in a systemic training, in an assessment of a life situation of a client. In the first section of the work, the author defines terms „life situation“, „assessment process“, „reflexivity in the assessment“, and „systemic approach“, while in the second section of the work, the author interprets results of a qualitative research. The method of semi-structured interview with six respondents was used in the research. The research was focused on specific aspects of assessment in the context of systemic approach – setting the goals of cooperation, boundaries and form of cooperation considering the context of the contact of a worker and his client, and the use of reflexivity – and gathered information about systemic instruments used by social workers in these aspects of assessment. The respondents were also encouraged to describe any other systemic instruments they use in other aspects of assessment, and to evaluate the overall benefit of the systemic approach for the assessment of a life situation of a client. Outcomes of the research show that the main benefit of the systemic approach is seen in a constructivist backgrounds of the systemic approach and in a concept of a client beeing an expert, who is competent to solve his problems. The model of a contract is particularly welcome when a third party is involved in the problem solution, and reflexivity is often connected with preventing the feeling of certainty in assessment. Some of the instruments, which respondents considered as systemic, are also used in other approaches to social work. The whole text contains 22 847 words.
