Commented Translation of a passage of tecnical text

Abstract:

This master thesis deals with the translation of a technical text and the subsequent analysis of this specialized text. The original text used for this analysis is part of the publication Les bouteilles de gaz: Identification, prévention lors du stockage et de l'utilisation, which focuses on the area of gas cylinders and their use. The master thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part is focused on the presentation of the original text and selected parts of the translation. The second chapter aims particularly at the translation of the original text into the target language, during which amount of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries were used and Czech or French professional publications as well. Translation problems from the stylistic, morphological and syntactic and lexical areas are introduced in the third chapter. Each problem is illustrated with an adequate example, as well as with its resulting solution. As the original text falls within the scope of a specialized text, terms are particularly important. Therefore, at the end of this master thesis, a French-Czech glossary with the key terms of the original text is attached.

Le présent mémoire de master traite de la traduction d'un texte technique et suit une analyse de ce texte de spécialisé. Le texte source fait partie de la publication Les bouteilles de gaz : Identification, prévention lors du stockage et de l'utilisation, qui se focalise sur le domaine de bouteilles de gaz et leur utilisation. Le mémoire est divisé en quatre parties principales. La premi?re partie est concentrée ? la présentation du texte de départ et des parties sélectionnées pour la traduction. La deuxi?me partie est dédié ? la traduction du texte source vers la langue cible pendant laquelle de nombreux dictionnaires de langue et dictionnaires bilingues ainsi que des publications spécialisées en français ou tch?que ont été utilisées. Les probl?mes de traduction du domaine stylistique, morphosyntaxique et lexical sont présents dans la troisi?me partie. Chaque probl?me est illustré par un exemple convenable ainsi que son résultat final. Étant donné que le texte de départ est spécialisé, ce sont notamment les termes qui sont essentiels. Pour cette raison, un glossaire franco-tch?que avec les termes clés du texte de départ est joint ? la fin de ce mémoire.
