Anti-art and Anxious Art

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis named “Anti-art and anxious art“ deals with these terms. These terms were coined in the second half of the 20th century and more so often were linked with the downfall of art. The goal of this thesis is to confirm their legitimacy on appropriate examples from around the world. At the same time, the thesis aims to show the possible similarities and differences of the aforementioned terms. The terms label a wider range of movements and conceps that started in the era of modern art. Among other things, the thesis focuses on multiple art movements from this era, particularly dadaism, neodadism and abstract expressionism. To accomplish the goals of the thesis, intentions of chosen artists and their works will be thoroughly analysed. At the end of the thesis both terms will be compared. In addition to the text, picture attachments are also included in the thesis.

Abstract:

Bakalárska diplomová práca s názvom „Anti-umenie a znepokojujúce umenie“ pojednáva o týchto pojmoch. Termíny vznikli v druhej polovici 20. storočia a často boli spájané so zánikom umenia. Cieľom práce je potvrdiť legitimitu ich klasifikácie na konkrétnych príkladoch zo svetového umenia. Zároveň sa práca snaží aj poukázať na možné zhody a rozdielnosti medzi zmienenými pojmami. Termíny označovali širšiu škálu hnutí a konceptov vznikajúcich v období moderny. V práci sú okrem iného predstavené viaceré umelecké smery z tohto obdobia a to predovšetkým dadaizmus, neodadaizmus a abstraktný expresionizmus. Pre dosiahnutie cieľu práce budú rozobrané intencie vybraných umelcov a ich diela podrobené analýze. V závere práce bude obsiahnutá aj komparácia oboch termínov. Okrem textovej časti je súčasťou práce aj obrazová príloha.
