Comparison of branches’ positions in field of high-tech industry in Czech Republic and the USA: HEWLETT-PACKARD,Ltd.

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá srovnáním postavení poboček podniku v oblasti high-tech v České republice a USA na příkladě společnosti HEWLETT-PACKARD s.r.o. Práce zahrnuje charakteristiku inovačního prostředí pro podnikání v oblasti high-tech v České Republice a USA a také porovnání postavení poboček konkrétního podniku na trzích těchto zemí. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. První část zahrnuje popis významu vyspělých technologii, popis pojmu high-tech sektor a podnikání v oblasti high-tech a také charakterizuje inovační prostředí ve vybraných zemích. Praktická část se zabývá srovnáním postavení poboček společnosti Hewlett-Packard na trhu ČR a na trhu USA a provedením analýzy na základě závěru z porovnání. Přínosem práce je shromáždění informací tykajících se oblasti high-tech a inovačního prostředí vybraných zemí do kompaktního celku a analýza postavení poboček konkrétní společnosti působící v této oblasti.

Abstract:

This paper deals with a comparison of branch offices' position in the field of high-tech industry in the Czech Republic and the USA on the example of HEWLETT-PACKARD, Ltd. The paper includes the description of an innovative environment for high-tech entrepreneurship in the Czech Republic and the USA and the comparison of the specific branches' position on the markets of those countries. Thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part embraces the information about the significance of the high-tech technology, the definition of high-tech sector and high-tech entrepreneurship and the characteristics of the innovative environment in the selected countries. The practical part includes the comparison of the branches' position of Hewlett-Packard on the Czech and the U.S. markets and analysis which is based on the conclusion from the comparison. The goal of this thesis is to collect the information regarding the high-tech sector and innovative environment of the selected courtiers into a consistent whole, and to analyze the specific branches' position of the company, which is operating in this area
