Mýtus krásy, ženy a současná společnost

The beauty myth, women and society
Abstract:
Cílem diplomové práce je prozkoumat současný trend kultu těla a mýtu krásy, jejich biologické a kulturně historické kořeny. Pokouším se objasnit, proč je krása v dnešní společnosti tolik genderově podmíněná, proč je právě žena ztotožněna s krásným pohlavím. Dále zkoumám společenské mechanismy, které legitimizují honbu po ideálním těle, a jejich důsledky na individuální i společenské rovině.
Abstract:
The aim of the thesis is to describe and clarify the beauty myth and its biological, cultural and historical roots. I focus on women: the gender conditionality of beauty and its impact on contemporary society.
