Evaluation of the physical structure of feed mixtures in laying hens in the first laying phase

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaký vliv má struktura krmné směsi na příjem a separaci krmiva u nosnic (hybrid LOHMANN BROWN CLASSIC), na její užitkové vlastnosti (snášku), živou hmotnost a rozvoj (hmotnost a délku) jednotlivých částí trávicího traktu. Do pokusu bylo zařazeno 20 nosnic hybrida LOHMANN BROWN CLASSIC. Kuřice byly naskladněny do individuálních klecí ve věku 16 týdnů. Pokus trval od 19 týdnů do 24 týdnů věku. V rámci pokusu byl sledován a hodnocen biochemický krevní profil a viskozita tráveniny. Připraveny byly dvě živinově stejné krmné směsi s rozdílnou fyzikální strukturou, které byly hodnoceny, stejně jako následné zbytky krmiv na separátoru krmiv. Krmná směs s jemnější fyzikální strukturou měla prokazatelný vliv na vyšší hmotnost žláznatého žaludku (P<0,05). Jiný statisticky významný vliv fyzikální struktury krmných směsí na vybrané části gastrointestinálního traktu a na biochemický profil krve nebyl prokázán (P˃0,05). Větší částice pocházející z krmné směsi s hrubší fyzikální strukturou stimulovaly u nosnic vyšší příjem krmné směsi, ale pozitivní ovlivnění parametrů užitkovosti nebylo zjištěno (P˃0,05). Rozdíly ve viskozitě tráveniny mezi skupinami nebyly statisticky průkazné. (P˃0,05). Stejně tak neměla fyzikální struktura krmných směsí podstatný vliv na živou hmotnost zvířat na konci pokusu (P˃0,05).

Abstract:

The main goals of the diploma thesis were to investigate the influence of feed structure on feed intake, feed separation, performance parameters (laying), live weight and gastrointestinal tract development (weight and length of individual parts) in laying hens. Twenty laying hens of the LOHMANN BROWN CLASSIC hybrid were used in the experiment. The pullets were stabled in individual cages at 16 weeks of age. The experiment was performed from 19 weeks to 24 weeks of age. The biochemical blood profile and viscosity of the digesta were evaluated in the experiment. Two nutrient-identical feed mixtures with different physical structures as well as feed residues were evaluated on the feed separator. A feed mixture with a finer physical structure had a significant effect on higher proventriculus weight (P<0.05). No more statistically significant effects of the physical structure of feed mixtures on selected parts of the gastrointestinal tract and on the blood biochemical profile has been demonstrated (P˃0.05). Larger particles from coarser feed mixture stimulated higher feed intake in laying hens, but no positive effects on performance parameters was found (P˃0.05). Differences in viscosity of digesta between groups were not statistically significant (P˃0.05). Likewise, the physical structure of the feed mixtures did not have a significant effect on the live weight of the animals at the end of the experiment (P˃0.05).
