Meeting Minutes as a Means of Intercompany Communication: Textual Language Analysis

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the language analysis of reports and minutes, which are used as means of communication within a company. The theoretical part examines technical language, especially its definition and structure from both the vertical and horizontal point of view. Furthermore, it deals with text linguistics and communication within a company, which the proceedings belong to. The last charter looks at economic language including its definition and styles of this language. The practical part analyses the proceedings themselves, which are characterized according to the function in the company, structure and main language features with the emphasis on using tenses. These characteristics are illustratively supported by sample text and analysis of proceedings. The output of this thesis is the chart, which states particular phenomena that had been observed and analyses in proceedings.

Abstract:

Diese Bachelorarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Sprachanalyse von Protokollen und Bespre-chungsberichten, die als Kommunikationsmittel innerhalb eines Unternehmens dienen. Der theoretische Teil konzentriert sich auf die Fachsprache, insbesondere auf ihre Definition und Gliederung aus horizontaler und vertikaler. Weiter dieser Teil widmet sich auf der Textlinguistik, Textsorte und der Kommunikation in dem Unternehmen, unter der das Protokoll selbst steht. Das letzte Kapitel ist die Wirtschaftssprache, die die Definition und die Stile dieser Sprache enthält. Der praktische Teil befasst sich mit den Besprechungsprotokollen selbst, die vom Ge-sichtspunkt derer Funktion im Unternehmen, Form, Struktur und der grundlegenden Sprachmerkmale mit Fokus auf die Verwendung von Tempora. Diese Charakteristiken werden nachfolgend durch einen Mustertext belegt und anschließend wird das Protokoll analysiert. Das Ergebnis dieser Arbeit ist die verarbeitete Tabellenübersicht, die die einzelnen untersuchten und analysierten Punkte der Protokolle angibt.
