GENUINE IDIOMS IN ENGLISH TEXT BOOKS [A critical study, of possibly psycholinguistics approach.]

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of ?idiom?, characteristic features of idioms, types of idioms and their occurrence and frequency. The practical part is devoted to the analysis of idioms selected from three English textbooks and to the research on how idioms are comprehended by English learners.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na definování pojmu idiom, charakteristické znaky idiomů, typy idiomů a jejich výskyt a používání. Praktická část je věnována rozboru idiomů, které byly vybrány ze třech anglických učebnic a výzkumu porozumění idiomů studenty anglického jazyka.
