First days in a youth detention center. The adaptation process through the eyes of the girls.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce s názvem První dny ve výchovném ústavu: Proces adaptace očima dívek se zaměřuje na popis prvotní adaptace v dívčím výchovném ústavu, a to z pohledu samotných klientek zde umístěných. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část práce se věnuje popisu adaptace v období adolescence, zaměřuje se také na klienty výchovných ústavů, jejich charakteristiku a nejčastější důvody umístění, a nakonec také popisuje specifika dívčího kolektivu a jejich přátelství. Empirická část práce se poté věnuje výzkumnému šetření. Popisuje metodologický postup kvalitativního výzkumu v podobě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, dále se také věnuje interpretaci výsledků analýzy získaných dat. Výsledky výzkumu popisují pocity dívek těsně před a po samotném příchodu do výchovného ústavu, jak si na nové prostředí a kolektiv zvykají a co jim v tomto ohledu pomáhá a co naopak proces komplikuje.

Abstract:

The thesis with the title First days in a youth detention center: The adaptation process through the eyes of girls focuses on a description of the first adaptation in the girls’ youth detention center from the point of view of the clients who are placed there. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical one and the empirical one. The theoretical part deals with the adaptation in the adolescence, it’s also concentrated on the clients of the youth detention center, their characteristics and the most common reasons to place them there, in the end it speaks about specifics of girls’ group and their friendships. The empirical part is focused on the research. It describes methodological procedure of the quality research, which was made through semi-structured interviews. It also deals with interpretation of the results of the data analysis. The results of the research describe feelings of the girls just before and after arrival to the youth detention center, how they get used to the new environment and a peer group, what makes the process easier and what makes it harder.
