Financing of companies from agricultural sector in realition to EU agricultural subsidies

Abstract:

The main objective of this diploma project is to represent the ability of the bank to adapt product portfolio for customers in the agricultural sector, due to situation of the agricultural sector, in which slovak farms do their business after joining the European Union. The diploma project is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter I try to make the main characteristics of agricultural support in the EU and the Slovakia, to describe the Common Agricultural Policy and to give a brief characterization of agriculture sector in Slovakia. The second part is related to the support opportunity through direct payments and agri-environmental payments - the basic form of EU support policy falling under the Common Agricultural Policy. The third chapter is oriented to support of investment activities of enterprises within the Rural Development Plan SR 2007 - 2013, I define the criteria for applicants and their projects, fulfillment of which the enterprise is classified as an eligible beneficiary for support from EU funds. In the final part I describe a complex loan´s portfolio of the bank for a client in the agricultural sector with a priority to the products related to the EU funds, by defining the credit process in the bank I try to transfer obtained theoretical knowledge of the particular forms of subsidies into action - to the final form a comprehensive indicative credit offer of the bank as a conclusion of this diploma project.

Abstract:

Hlavným cieľom tejto diplomovej práce je prezentovanie schopnosti banky prispôsobiť produktové portfólio pre klientov z agrosektora, vzhľadom na aktuálny stav trhu, v akom sa slovenské poľnohospodárske podniky po vstupe do Európskej únie ocitli. Diplomová práca je rozdelená do štyroch kapitol. Prvá kapitola je venovaná základnej charakteristike podpory poľnohospodárstva v EÚ a v SR, Spoločnej poľnohospodárskej politike európskej únie a stručnej charakteristike poľnohospodárstva v Slovenskej republike. Druhá časť diplomovej práce je venovaná podpore prostredníctvom priamych platieb a agroenvironmentálnym platbám, t.j. základným formám podpornej politiky EÚ spadajúcim pod Spoločnú poľnohospodásku politiku. Tretia kapitola je orientovaná na podporu investičných aktivít podnikov prostredníctvom Programu rozvoja vidieka SR 2007 - 2013, definícií kritérií pre žiadateľov a ich projekty, splnením ktorých sa podnik klasifikuje ako oprávnený na získanie pomoci z fondov EÚ. V záverečnej časti diplomovej práce opisujem komplexné úverové portfólio banky pre klienta z agrosektora s prioritou na produkty spojené s využitím zdrojov EÚ, kde opisom spracovania produktu bankou sa snažím preniesť do praxe informácie o jednotlivých formách podpory, t. j. využiť teoretické vedomosti a premietnuť ich do konečnej podoby komplexnej ponuky banky pre poľnohospodársky podnik, ktorou túto prácu uzatváram.
