The impact of Brexit on beer export to the United Kingdom

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá dopadem Brexitu na export piva z České republiky do Velké Británie. Toho je docíleno pomocí vyhodnocení podmínek, které vyplývají z Dohody o obchodu a spolupráci, dalších změn vzniklých v důsledku Brexitu, a analýzou dat o obchodních operacích s pivem. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na průběh Brexitu, uzavřenou dohodu a dopady Brexitu na obchod. Dále se práce věnuje pivovarnickému průmyslu a aktuální situaci na světovém trhu s pivem, stejně jako českému a britskému pivovarnictví. Praktická část pak analyzuje data o exportu a importu piva, porovnává situaci s ostatními významnými exportéry a zkoumá další faktory ovlivňující obchodní toky. Na závěr je provedena SWOT analýza, která posuzuje silné a slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby, kterým čelí čeští exportéři po Brexitu.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the impact of Brexit on the export of beer from the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom. This is achieved by evaluating the conditions arising from the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, other changes resulting from Brexit, and analyzing data on beer trade operations. The theoretical part focuses on the course of Brexit, the concluded agreement, and the impacts of Brexit on trade. Furthermore, the thesis addresses the brewing industry and the current situation in the global beer market, as well as Czech and British brewing. The practical part then analyzes data on beer export and import, compares the situation with other major exporters, and examines other factors influencing trade flows. Finally, a SWOT analysis is conducted to assess the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by Czech exporters after Brexit.
