Authenticity and its relationship to subjective vitality, positivity, and connectedness to nature

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá psychologickým konstruktem autenticity v kontextu subjektivní vitality, pozitivity a spojení s přírodou. Teoretická část představila jednotlivé psychologické konstrukty, jejich teoretický vývoj a související poznatky v kontextu dosavadního zkoumání. Cílem práce bylo odpovědět na výzkumné otázky související s těmito tématy: vztahy mezi sledovanými proměnnými, prediktory autenticity, vliv spojení s přírodou na vztahy mezi proměnnými, vliv demografických charakteristik na proměnné. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo celkem 209 respondentů. Data byla získána na základě online dotazníkové šetření. Pro měření jednotlivých konstruktů byly použity tyto metody: Škála autenticity, Škála subjektivní vitality, Dotazník pozitivity a Škála spojení s přírodou. Výsledky výzkumu ukázaly, že mezi všemi sledovanými proměnnými byly nalezeny statisticky významné vztahy. Nejsilnějším prediktorem autenticity byla pozitivita. Spojení s přírodou nemělo na vztah mezi pozitivitou a subjektivní vitalitou, respektive subjektivní vitalitou a autenticitou statisticky významný vliv. Pohlaví mělo statisticky významný vliv na míru spojení s přírodou, věk na míru pozitivní orientace na sebe a rodinný stav na všechny sledované proměnné s výjimkou autenticity. Vzdělání nemělo na sledované proměnné žádný vliv.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the psychological construct of authenticity in the context of subjective vitality, positivity and connectedness to nature. All constructs were widely introduced, including their theoretical development and relevant findings of previous research. The aim of the thesis was to answer research questions about these topics: relationships between variables, predictors of authenticity, the effect of connectedness to nature on the relationships between variables, the effect of demographic factors on the variables. There were 209 respondents in the study. Data was collected based on an online questionnaire survey. The following methods were used to measure the constructs: The Authenticity Scale, The Subjective Vitality Scale, Positivity Test and The Connectedness to Nature Scale. The results showed significant relationships among all variables. The strongest predictor of authenticity was positivity. Connectedness to nature had no significant effect on the relationships between positivity, subjective vitality and authenticity. Gender had a significant effect on the level of connectedness to nature. Age had a significant effect on the level of positive orientation towards life. Family status had a significant effect on the level of all the variables except authenticity. Education had no significant effect on the variables.
